Who choreographed the lightsaber battles in the Star Wars movies?
The Human ParadΩx asked:
I heard that there is some famous fencing afficianato who was the main choreographer for the lightsaber battles in Star Wars, the swordfights in Pirates of the Caribbean, and a couple other movies like The Mask of Zorro.
Does anybody know what that guys name is?

His name is Bob Anderson. And he did indeed do Pirates and Zorro and many other Hollywood movies. He is the sword master, he taught them how to fight, he didn’t necessarily choreograph it but he did teach them how to fight for the films.

As Katie H said, Bob Anderson worked on EMPIRE and JEDI as one of the fight choreographers and donned the Vader costume for all of the JEDI duels and most of the EMPIRE duels (Dave Prowse, as Vader, did what he could on a bit of it). Peter Diamond worked as principal Stunt co-ordinator/Stunt Arranger on all three classic films and was responsible for the lightsaber choreography on the first STAR WARS filmed in 1976 with Prowse and Alec Guinness dueling.
Nick Gillard created the lightsaber duels for all three Prequel films.
