Unfortunately my internet is very slow and I haven’t had the chance to watch the whole list, so I don’t know what #s 1-3 are yet, but I have to say I’m disappointed that you put Luke vs. Vader in Episode VI at #6. To me, that is probably the best one, especially now that we know all the tragedy behind Vader’s character. I feel as though the camera shot and the music at 4:00 is absolutely masterful. The music is ominous and tragic, and for once, subtly but surely, it’s Vader running from Luke.

I understand…. ur too old and fell asleep during the new star wars and didn’t see any lightsaber duels…. < emotionless? the darth maul duel emotionless? only if ur heart is black. obi vs Anakin emotionless? u must have not seen the end of that movie.

the only “problem” I have wit it is “the jedi knights” vs Sideous…. to start two people AgenKolar and Saesee Tiin don’t get a single attack or even block anything so at most it’s Mace Windu and Kit Fisto vs Sideous but I wouldn’t even count Fisto…. that duel is Mace vs Sideous and it should be higher then 9…. it’s top 5 for sure
i know LOTS of people are going to yell at me about this, but the lightsaber duels in the prequels are pretty badass, but the movie’s themselves are not as good as the originals are. I like the duels in the original’s because it’s like what digitalintent said, it’s a battle of thier emotions, not how good they are with thier lightsabers.

In the Obi-Wan vs. Anakin Mustafar duel, you skipped a part near the beginning.
@digitalintent Im sure that if you fought like the prequel u would ur ass handed to urself, those fights where way too slow and skilless, thats hwo 3 year olds would fight

well of course the battle of heroes neede to be in 1st plase they waited since the first movie for these
@digitalintent ur makin urself look bad by makin such bold accusations, u must realize battles on eps 4-6 sucked and even if the ones on 1-3 arent great since its evident that those battles are practiced and could be finished 2 or 3 times before they “really” ended, they are more realistic in the way they are fought rather than have ur foot glued to the ground and just left-right swingin
@allanx3a05 More realistic by jumping and flipping around everywhere? Please kid, stop now. I would explain to you how Lucas was influenced by Kurosawa’s movies, and wanted the Jedi to be more like Samurai, but I can see by your posts, and the fact that you *tried* very hard to insult me, that you wouldn’t understand.
@digitalintent in saying that, anakin vs obi-wan was probally one of the ones with the greatest emotion. Knowing you have to fight and most likely kill someone who is not only your friend but is like a brother or a son. If that isnt emotion into a lightsaber duel then i dont know what is. The only emotion that is equal or tops that fight is luke vs darth vader.
@mittyandwitty Disagree. Neither one of those characters was fleshed out enough to elicit emotion. And again, unless you were told they were friends, you wouldn’t get that from the way they acted towards one another. Obi-Wan was always annoyed with Anakin and Anakin was a complete dick and did nothing but whine. There was one time in Attack of the Clones where they laughed about some past experience. But that was about all. We were told they were friends. We didn’t witness it.
@digitalintent dude you gotta chill and stop calling every1 a kid i mean there are kids that are a lot smarter than many adults u would meet these days and anyways i get what your saying but were u all excited during the fights in 4-6 coz i wasnt it was just 1 clash every few mins. The fights in 1-3 are just more exciting with the speed and movement in the battle compared to the previous duels.
