@avatar Please, come to Fresno, CA and I’ll show you what a 2 foot rattan baston and 15 years of Escrima would do against your bullshit LARPing techniques. You practice forms, try live fighting with those toys sometimes. Oh wait, all of your techniques revolve around the use of a weapon that “doesn’t” exist.
So, sing you took the low road.. I have over 23 years of western fencing and sword experience, 18 years with eastern sword styles and more than 16 odd years with Escrima/Kali and the usual mix of ground fighting, martial education. Your background means crap in this issue. YOU said TOYs, I need only note they are not toys and can be used, just like any wooden sword, for weapons skill development.. get over it you foul mouthed twit. You act the fool, you get the ass-end of the rattan.
*seeing. Ohh, and before this goes into more pitiful threats by you Failcon, If you have so many years of education, you should have kept the first rule they teach you in ANY martial art.. respect of other styles, forms, and fighting methods, even the ‘play’ ones used for stage combat or LARPing. You do your teacher(s) a great disrespect by being so closed-minded and insulting to those that don’t do only as you expect them to.
@avatar I’m sorry, I just wanted to get the final word in. Lick my balls.
While these two argue, I’ll answer the actual point Falcon was bringing up.
NY Jedi is a stage combat group. This was a form taught to us by a grandmaster of Monkey Kung Fu (The man you see in the video). He taught us the form, and this video is meant as a way of understanding why you would use such an attack and what for. It’s all in a bid to make what is a giant glowstick look more like a lightsaber on stage
why the hell would anyone want to learn this shit. “stupid”
Because it’s more fun than watching from your chair and posting a negative opinion, “Stupid”.
FUCK OFF!
@FalconPaaunch LOL
where can i learn this in Nederland.
one of the few LS videos showing understanding of martial principles and a good application of physicality and technique.
@griersback
because you can actualy apply those techniques to normal melee weapons aswell, utilizing lightsaber forms brings a certain type of “elegance” to melee fighting aka martial arts
Well these are pretty cool vids and I’m so jealous of your lightsaber X) it goes whoosh and zzzzt! Mine only goes whoosh and zzzzt if I make the sounds myself lol. oh by the way you pwned that guy and that kick at 245 was bitchin!
Where can I get the lightsaber?
it’s cool
@FromMarsToEarth Spencers
Good Job NY, Im posting these to the NJ Jedi FB group so our trainees have a better understanding of Shii-Cho…there not quite getting it yet
Nice))) that would be much better, if you showed advantages of Makashi over Shii-Cho, as on SW Legend Makashi was created to withstand Shii-Cho.
Thanks in advance=)
I have to agree here. I myself do Kendo and do “stage combat” and all of his moves are very practical. Mind you his opponent was allowing himself to be opened up at the end to allow the attacker to florish alittle. But all of his moves are indeed very practical and real. Any true fighter would be able to tell you this simply by watching this clip.
what is he looking at?
If Star Wars was real, then this guy would srsly pwn Dooku’s Makashi. This guy’s kick-ass!
Ok, now that we’ve seen some Form I stuff, can you put some stuff for the other six forms on. We’ve been waiting for three years.
Very nice video, downloaded it so i can watch over and over so i can practice this with my friends to it over here in Malaysia and Singapore. If you do not mind us using the video for practice purposes.
it looks too aggressive for shii-cho i think it looks more like juyo
@anamorphic74 Damn straight. I love people who insist, as if it were ordained by GOD himself, that their opinion be given unsolicited on ANY topic.
OMG! Is this guy Bionic? Just.. UGH! WOW! Amazing! [StarWars Fan here]
The most AMAZING Epic stuff in my opinion: 0:18 up to 0:20 . AMAZING sruff. o.o
