Sony Vegas 9 allows me to rotoscope a lightsaber following this great tutorial, and it all appears fine.
However, on play back and checks, all the rotoscoping is off by several frames, which means the preview window is false.
What do I do? At this time, I wont be rotoscoping/key masking anymore cause Sony preview window is not reliable source.
Any tips to solve this?

Hello Rich. My name is Ismael, you can call me Papo is my nickname. I write because I believe you saw my video of the light saber of BlowMind Studios. Well as you have taught us all to achieve the effect to the sword, but I have a question. Besides that my wife almost killed me for taking the broomstick cut and dyed for use as a guide, my big question is how I can make that stick or guide does not appear before after the effect of on and off of the saber. I hope you can help me.

I can help you with that! I use after effects for this but I’m sure you can do this on vegas. Have footage of you holding the light saber prop acting like you have activated it. then keep the camera in the same position. make sure it doesnt move. for the same time you recorded yourself, record the area you were just it. Then merge the two film clips and play with the mask opacity and expansion.

May be the software should track movement of an object once it is locked and we should be able to apply the effect at one place on the locked object and the software could interpolate it to the movement of that object? Is there any software that does that?
you could try to make the mask curved but it would be hard i would suggest get a different bar

Thank you so much! I have looked all over and no one really addresses that. That was the only way I could figure out to do it, and I thought there was another way. Unless theres another way that’s easier or just different, you solidified what I have ended up with. Thanks for proving me not SUCH an idiot, lol.
