Thanks alot, man!
thanks
I’m not trying to be mean but you were not masking the light saber effect by hand. You were using the video co pilot preset. Please tell the people watching your videos the correct way to do things. If you’re using a pre-made preset then tell them that you are and how to get it, but don’t say you’re masking it when you’re actually just using a pre-made tool.
@MixedStudios lol… Nice.
@MixedStudios Agreed…
@MixedStudios Actually, no you are wrong
@MixedStudios & @disasterupload the screen shots maybe the preset but honestly both methods work and both are just as effective.
Yea my main point was that they should at least say what they are using in the video. Both methods would work but the examples they showed were not created with the method they described.
@MixedStudios – it’s basically the same exact process – these guys make tutorials for beginners obviously it was an overview and didn’t focus on post-production. Anybody who wants AE tutorials knows Co-Pilot is the place to get them. 3 minutes on the whole process where as Co-pilot will spend 10minutes just in Post.
Both methods can produce the same effect but masking around the light frame by frame would take much longer. The built in effect can save you half the time. My main point once again, is that they should have the integrity to say that they are using a time saving method that they did not create.
For a much more involved, step-by-step tutorial on achieving this effect in After Effects, go to our site and search “The Sword and the Light Tutorial.” It is a text article with a 16min video for those who want to really delve in. Cheers.
My issue is not how, it was the fact that you didn’t tell the audience what you actually used to create the effect.
can i do this on Adobe Premier Editing Software?
what ind of editing programm is this??after effects??vegas pro??
what they dont really tell you is how hard this effects actually is. trust me i have done it, if you dont have patience dont try this effect.
I like that they sell the effect before they build the lightsaber
lol
Wait a minute; is not this a step-by-step tutorial that is what you told in this video?
this really hleped me a lot, but how would u do this in sony vegas movie studio, cos ucant mask in studio, but can u do anything aelse to sell the effect of the lightsaber, keep up the great work, 5/5
What program is better? AE or Sony Vegas. Cuz I watched a lot of video and they’re always using Sony Vegas instead of Adobe….
rotoscoping frame by frame at 24 fps (or even 30 fps) for a one minute segment is 1440 to 1800 key frames…PER LIGHT SABER. That’s a buncha clickin’ n’ draggin’. You’d better be ergonomically situated for this work.
Peace
If you use clear and light materials, some programs, like After Effects, support ‘Track Motion’. In that case the program just does this, and you can go drink a coffee while your computer is making the light sabers.
I have After Effects; but, not the pro version which has motion tracking…anyway…it’ll be my software purchase.
Before I knew what keyframes were, I’d actually used the free version of FXhome Vision Studio Lab, which has a light saber effect built in; however…no motion tracking.
Peace
BTW, nice work on the sabers.
cool
banana
They do spray and also just remembered trade tape for doctors will be helpful down the throat the training emotion of the pike said ….
Step number two is selling that really crucial..
You want to pay attention to detail wrecking..
Transcript sound doesn’t work that well…
@VideoGearHead yeah.
i did a 5 minute light saber fight at 30fps with effectsLab
