Hasbro Anakin Skywalker Force FX Lightsaber with Removable Blade 2010

My review of the 2010 Hasbro Signature Series Anakin Skywalker Revenge of the Sith Force FX Lightsaber with removable blade. Before buying this, I had looked EVERYWHERE to find even simple non-stock pics of this saber without any luck, so I figured I’d be the first to make a review of this for all of those Force FX fans, like me, who want to know more about these lightsabers. Special thanks to Lucas Film, Hasbro, and Razor’s Edge Collectibles!

  • PolishJAveliN

Hey dude ;D nice rewiew:) I’m ordering it next week but not from your side because i cant find it on Razor’s Edge Collectibles :/ but it doesnt make any diffrence because model is the same :) I think this model is the best off all produced:)

  • DARTHZERIMAR

Yeah on the blade color, I’m not sure. I’ll have to test that out when I buy Vader’s but I’ll keep y’all posted.

  • MrNinjaman25

@DARTHZERIMAR hey i didnt c any on the website and on sites like hasbro it said its not goin to be shipped till around 8/23 so did i not look well enough on razor’s or did they maybe take it down and i have to wait till start shippin at hasbro? any clue?

  • DARTHZERIMAR

@MrNinjaman25 Thank you!, I’m not sure on Razor’s Edge. They may have only had a few but I bought this from their eBay store. I would message them if you can’t find this in their store, to see if they have any left.

when you power it up and down, it seems different. i want one. :D

Nice review!Great job man..I have only one question. Is it the hilt bigger than the previous one???

  • 24KobeDynasty

Is the diameter of the handle from the removable one the same diameter as the fully attached one?

  • DARTHZERIMAR

@Cougarfugar Yeah the power up/down seems a bit slower thatn previous Force FX models

  • DARTHZERIMAR

@psra3 & @24KobeDynasty Well i no longer have my old Hasbro Anakin’s with permanent blade, so I can’t do an exact comparison, but judging by what I remember, the hilt is pretty much the same size, maybe a hair’s length thinner, but it’s hard to tell

  • DARTHZERIMAR

By the way, it looks like they will be adding Darth Maul’s lightsaber to the removable blade family. Finally we can have that “Duel on Tatooine” look for that saber with both hilts attached, but only one blade attached

  • DARTHZERIMAR

I haven’t heard any news from them, but I hope Ultrasabers can find new ways to add their work to these. I really want them to make their hollow blades with a Luxeon LED at the base, in the shape of this blades, that way I could simply choose to pop in the stock, 64 LED scrolling blade, or their own bright, Luxeon, duelable ultra blade. The the hilt would then remain unaltered to keep its status, as a collectable, intact. I don’t know if this is feasible, but I will keep you posted on this.

@psra3 & @24KobeDynasty To add to that, perhaps my hands have grown ever so slightly since I sold my Hasbro Anakin with stationary blade (which was only 2 months ago) but it just feels like I get a better grip on this saber than I had on the other. Also the grips feel like a millimeter shorter, but again, without the other model, I can’t be certain on this.

  • bLihdamr

awesome review, I’ve one question though, you mentioned that the saber was unduelable, so is the blade very fragile, what is it made out of, I need to know before I buy it.

  • DARTHZERIMAR

@bLihdamr Good question. When I say “unduelable,” I don’t mean literally, as I’ve dueled with many of my Force FX lightsabers, but what I mean is, first of all, Hasbro claims in the manual that these should never be dueled with, but aside from that, the reason is that because the blade itself contains 64 small LEDs, reckless dueling and hard strikes can cause bulbs to go out, then you’re left with a lightsaber with dark spots in the light.

Thank your very much for nice review !

  • DARTHZERIMAR

@Iwant2believe4 absolutely, I’ll be making more, as well, once the rest of them come in

  • starkirby2010

Hello, did also you buy Vader’s EP4 Removable Blade Lightsaber? I want to make a choice between Vader & Anakin. If you have these two sabers, please let me know which one is better? Thanks a lot~

  • Iwant2believe4

I am one of them saber collector. Your review is very useful.
By the way, do you know any release information ? I knew ANAKIN, VADER, OBI is coming out first, then around Oct 2010, Darth Maul. I like to know Yoda & Count Duku one. Same as removable.

  • DARTHZERIMAR

@starkirby2010 I do not have it yet, but, before I sold them, I had Hasbro’s Anakin ROTS and Vader ANH Force FXs with stationary blades. It really depends what you are looking for, though. Do you like blue better or red? Do you want a hilt that looks like its from 2005 or 1977? Do you want your lightsaber on a hook or a cell phone clip? Are you a Jedi or a Sith? If none of these questions matter to you, then I recommend Anakin’s. I like the grips better and, to me, it’s easier to weild.

  • DARTHZERIMAR

@Iwant2believe4 Thank you, and unfortunately, those 4 are the only ones so far. Anakin’s is out now. Obi-Wan and Vader are supposed to be ready 08/15, and, yeah, I’ve heard Maul’s will be in October. I’d like for them to make all of the sabers with removable blades, but so far, this is it. I’ll keep y’all posted though.

  • starkirby2010

@starkirby2010 Thanks for the answer, I’ll visit the shop nearby and compare these hilts.

  • bLihdamr

@DARTHZERIMAR Thankyou for telling me, hope u have more reviews to come.

  • Lindzey17
