Final Cut Tutorial: Creating Lightsabers, Keyframing Method
A tutorial of making lightsabers in fce4 using a lightsaber image. Any more insight or solutions with regards to the slipping keyframe issue? It’s driving me crazy. No matter how I move through the process I get the same frustrating results ever time, exactly as you described at the end of your vid.

OMG that is a BIG dock!
You know the X that you have on the lightsaber image when it is selected? How do you get that? Because, it won’t let me move an image in final cut express. When i select it, it is only bordered in blue. How do I make it so I can move it and modify it?!?!

go to wireframe

click a the little menu in the video viewer, and select “image wireframe”
How did you fix the problem with the keyframes getting messed up.
how do you get the black background on finla cut express
you need a green screen then you key the green out without putting a backround behind it

Lol dude you explain everything else so well, better then most teachers would, but that whole part about the wire framing and actually getting the image in the timeline/video you kinda failed on and just skipped right through sayin anything about it:P

is there a way to do the lightsaber effect in FCE 4 WITHOUT doing key frame? (like maybe u do 1 frame and then it can just follow the sword) caz keyframing takes forever
